I knew Kyra was planning on going, and she had talked about it for awhile. One day she mentioned that I should go, I had never really thought about it, but the more I did, who would not want to go... so I prayed about it and searched it out and.. I decided to go. Its a study abroad program, so I can get 6 credits which is great since I am not taking summer school this year... and Derek (my brother) is also coming! I am extremely excited. Ive always wanted to travel (out of N America) and now here is my chance!

Check this Video out.. pretty amazing... shows how God gives people amazing talents.

Desitination.

One for Jan. I absolutely love my classes, in particular, the ones that are for my major. They honestly make me so excited to teach, and even more glad that I added Special Ed onto my major.Nothing to major has changed..I recently took up being a Math tutor which I am kinda excited for, since it is still fresh in my head. I stubbed my toe a couple days ago, not just any stubb, The stub against cement. Its looking a lot better, doesn't hurt so much, but now we just wait for my nail to decease (fall off), ick.

Ohhh I decided to become a seller on Amazon, a seller of text books! I think I will keep most of them, but there is a few where they would probably collect dust, so why not put them to use in someone else's hands. So far so good, I learned shipping by MEDIA mail is the smart way to ship, IE if you don't it costs an arm and a leg. It is also cheaper to buy shipping supplies such as the big white envelopes at the Post office, learned that lesson too! Last lesson, you do NOT, I repeat, you do NOT have to pay for priority shipping packaging at the post office ( but if you ship priority and get a plain envelopes, you DO).

the song I can not stop listening/playing ...
Overcome
-Desperation Band

Favorite part of the song, part that I listen to the whole song for... the bridge....

Try listening to it if you have not already.

---It was VERY warm out day, yay.
Until next time.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://alyssaharasym.blogspot.com/2009/01/one-for-jan.html' title='One for Jan. Christmas this year was really good. We had a ton of family time, had two baby's first Christmas (Raiden and Ellia), and a huge amount of snow. I decided to stay here for the break, no trips to Canada, but I am hoping I can make some this summer like the usual!

This past year has been a good one! This winter Ive learned the art of shoveling, how great the ice chipper can be, and how its a challenge to walk Duke in heaps of snow.

Somehighlights.
-Purchasing my car.
-Being blessed with my piano after a long, but worth it, wait.
-Graduating, and of course, starting college.
---From the beginning..
In school, I never had a problem with grades, but I never tried my hardest. Yah, I did all my homework, crammed for exams, and did pretty good, but I never engaged in my learning. My Junior year, I was not home a lot. Out with friends, still getting homework done and all that jazz, but doing the very least to get by. My senior year then came. My parents pushed me to do things a little bit differently. Pushing me to focus way more on school, and trying my hardest(they knew I was capable of more then I was putting forth). At first it was hard, but I found I loved school all the more. Being able to remember things after the test happened and just gaining new knowledge everyday. I am so glad they challenged me with this my senior year because it helped set me up on good grounds.
This past semester, I set a goal for myself in what I wanted to see in the end result. It was hard, because there was many times where it felt like I wouldn't be able to achieve it, but I kept on keeping my eyes, first focused on God, and then of course, doing all that I could to make it possible..... In conclusion... With God, all things are possible.
-All the new additions.(Raiden, Ellia, Duke)
-Learning the importance(more) of family.
---God has really taught me how important they are. They have shown me how they will always be there for me. That they will love me no matter what mistakes I make, and will always be there to lift me up and be examples in my life. With out them, I know I would not be where I am today. I LOVE YOU ALL.
.
I want to shout out to my sister Kasey, I do not know what I would do with out her! Growing up I had always wanted a sister who I could live with, and you know do all the sister stuff, that well brothers just cant do, and I am so glad God gave me her! I can always count on her to stay up late with me, actually her stay up late, and me fall a sleep! A couple days ago, we bought a harness for Duke, hoping the Husky side could pull Kas on a sled. Didn't work so well when I wasn't helping him pull... I guess it doesn't help that we teach him not to pull when going for walks. But hey, it was fun while it lasted.

All in all...

HAPPY NEW YEARS.

makes me chuckle.

Photo taken summer of '08 in Edmonton. Plus I'm excited for my next schedule. I Had 3 of my exams in one day, so it was nice to get the majority of them done at one time. It is starting to warm up, I know this because Duke does sit and shiver as much when he is in the backyard.... and actually today, he preferred to stay outside in the back yard which has been unheard of for days! Then I told Jacki I actually would not mind going with, and she gave some names of universities there. I researched Mary, and amazingly enough, they have Special Ed and Theology program, which it has been hard to find a school with both. I was going to take online classes and get a degree in Theology that way, which was fine, but this is even greater! Definitely God! Which I am extremely thankful! I can not wait.

Bitz of Updates.

+I only have two days left of school. It's NEAT to see the light at the end of the tunnel. A couple of days ago, it hit me, that this semester is almost done (I know I have said that in my last few posts, but it ACTUALLY hit me),all the work, all the times where it seems like I was completely submersed in school, stayed up late to finish the last touch ups on papers, reading, reading, and more reading its coming to a conclusion.. then next semester!
+I love spending time with and holding my nephew!!
+My cousin Ellia Beth was born Dec. 8th at 8:45 PM
+Cory, this break, I will read The Shack, like I promised! Oh, and finish Redeeming Love.
+My church has been having the Singing Christmas Tree, so I've been working in the kids room when they are done performing, yay for toys, snacks, crafts and stories!
+I'm off to work on Matrices!

Don't forget to have FUN in the snow!

Minot VS Edmonton

By living in a different country there are definitely going to be differences. An important part. I've learned that what I have gone through, has molded me and shaped me into who I am today. When I have gone through rough times in my life, where I have felt torn apart, each time, God was there to mend me back up, to heal the brokenness. It was like He took a needle and thread; every time I was hurt, fell down, He was right there to pick me up, mend me, make me stronger. I look at life, I am truly thankful for everything I have gone through. And when I go through more trials each and everyday, it gives me hope, hope knowing that through God, I have overcome, I will overcome.. and I will be stronger the next day after next.

Another aspect is my attitude. Keeping a positive attitude, knowing that the trial is only there for a season has made all the difference. Of course it is easy to find myself feeling sorry for myself, but its something that is over come and will always be over come. I am to thank God in all things, seriously, this has helped TREMENDOUSLY! Honestly, taking the focus off myself, putting it on God and just thanking him for everything I do have, everything that is going good.Whether we like to believe it or not, everything does not go bad at one time. Bad incidents tend over shadow the good things. It is just like if one person comments you and another person says something plain mean, which is going to have the greatest effect? I would rather say the good comment, but usually, at least for me, the mean one has the greater effect. But, I have the choice of whether I will let it. Knowing who God is, and who I am, in the end, over shadows it all cause ultimately, what God thinks of me is what counts, not the world, not people, but Jesus.

1) Trials and sufferings have made me who I am today.
2) Trials make us stronger.
3) Positive Attitude is a key.
4) God brings me to it, He brings me through it.

..... because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Give Thanks. (Plus a little update)

Since today is Thanksgiving I thought I'd list a couple things that I am thankful/blessed for.

First, my family. Words can not explain how much they all mean to me. Most know my family is huge, and that first is a blessing. More people to love, and get to know, and to have at family functions. I know I can always count on my family to be there. My parents have always been there to guide me, help me make the right choices, and have giving me the greatest advice (even if I did not think so at the time). I can truly say I trust them, and that in itself is a great gift. I am extremely thankful for my family, whether it be saving me when I am stuck on the side of the road, just need a hug, a friend, I know I can count on you all.

Second. There is someone who has always been there for me. He has stuck by my side through trials and struggles, good times and bad. He is the only one who brings me true peace, true happiness, joy and love. Showing me how to love and has loved me unconditionally. He has taught me how to live the life to the fullest, how to look at all things for the good. With out him, I am nothing, with out him I would not be who I am today. He is my first love. His name is Jesus, my God, my Savior.

UPDATE
1) I got a doggy blanket from my parents so I can take Duke to the dog park(and keep the car clean). I went a few days ago, it was great. There where four other dogs there and Duke had a blast. A little muddy, few paw prints here and there. Near the end, a couple brought their Husky who was only 4 months old and she was adorable. Could defin. pick out the similarities between Duke and the pupp.
2) School is still going great, slowly wrapping up, getting papers done, and getting ready for finals. Favorite class, like always, still math. (even more specifically, Algebra wohoo.)
3) Work is good, working 2-3 days a week which is just enough. The shifts definatly fly by!

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://alyssaharasym.blogspot.com/2008/11/give-thanks.html' title='Give Thanks. What are your pet peeves? What is your ambition, your dream, what do you strive for? Let’s make it easy, what is your favorite color? These questions are not just simple questions; they are questions to us, for us, about us. They reflect who we are in different ways. So who are we? Who am I? I am surrounded by a world of infamous trends, trends that unless I accept I do not fit in. People influencing me to think a certain way, is it the right way? Do people live like this; do people become what they are surrounded by, but not who they are? Who they long to be, love to be and truly are?

Who am I?
My name is Alyssa Michelle Harasym, my birthday is actually today, March 12th and I have a huge family. Both my parents are remarried and I get along with everyone in my family. I’m not a picky eater and I will eat stuff I do not like unless it is sea food, I just can not seem to get it down. I do not have a favorite color. I know its one of the easiest questions, but it’s a question I do not have a true answer for. My favorite thing about me is my eyes. God gave me big brown eyes with long eye lashes, so yes; I do not wear mascara which I am extremely grateful for (one last thing I have to worry about).

I live my life day by day, trying to take it by the moment, trying to live by excellence in all things. Yes, it is hard, yes, sometimes I don’t go all the way, but I am not perfect, but I strive to be; be the best I can be. Why? Why do I strive to be the best I can be? Why not? God created me for his glory; he created me to shine for him, and to live and to do all things for him. So if I am not living my life the best I can, why live? Why just pass on through on pilot mode? I want to live by the moment.

I rather take the small piece over the big piece any day. Growing up, with various people, we would split something like a chocolate bar, and of course, one half was bigger then the other. What one do I choose? I would always feel bad taking the bigger piece so I take the smaller piece. For me this is more then a chocolate bar, it is putting someone before me in something small. If I can not put someone else ahead of me in small things, can I larger? My goal is to be a servant, to put God and people above me, to focus on others. I want to be more like Jesus. Jesus is the perfect example, human form of perfect. Someone who I can look up to and strive to be like, Of course I will never be Jesus, because like I said, I am not perfect, but I am going to try to be like him, follow his example, be Christ-like, which leads me to the most important thing about me is, I am a Christian. That is who I am. That is what I live my life for. Not for fashion, not for dating, or the norm in this day in age. I live for my Lord and Savior, and he shapes who I am. I feel a lot better trusting in someone like him to live and strive to be like, then the various things around me. I am me; a child of God; I am a sister, a daughter, a friend. Someone who wants to help, who cares, who loves people. I am Alyssa.

(March 12th, 08)

Experience with Adobe.

<img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt;
